Hayat (v6) (2008)

I'm an American working in the Middle East and some of my artwork is inspired by this place. One popular art form is calligraphy - usually making shapes and forms with Arabic script. My piece is here though not making use of Arabic is inspired by the use of it in calligraphy and all the curling and twisting lines and shapes that result. The name of this piece is Hayat, which means life. If you look at my artwork you will notice the one consistency is the lack of consistency. I try to make each piece different from all the others. With each piece I try something new and try to learn something in the process making each piece a process of self discovery. See the other versions of this piece in my gallery.
