I put a lot of detail into this piece and as a result put a lot of time into it as well. The focus is the soil. You barely see anything of the plants growing on the top. You see more of the roots going down as they seek water and nutrients. You see the texture and richness of the soil - the world beneath the grass line. In my use of color and I wanted to stay with the browns and the golds with only the use of green as a highlight and to draw attention to the emerging corn plants. Because of the intricate use of detail and my use of color I’ve gotten very good reactions to this piece. I’m interested in your reaction as well. What do you like most about it? If you look at my artwork you will notice the one consistency is the lack of consistency. I try to make each piece different from all the others. With each piece I try something new and try to learn something in the process making each piece a process of self discovery.
