Blonde Girl (2008)

The predominant impression I wanted to reach with this piece was glass; glassy frame, glassy background, and the shiny glassy image in the middle being showcased. As with many of my pieces, this one can easily give differing impressions. The one I intend is a girl with innocent eyes and locks of long blonde hair. So, I tried to focus on beauty and bring out the innocence, purity, and loveliness I saw in the face and clumpy locks of hair. A second common impression is two alien creatures or snakes that are facing each other and dancing. In this impression the girl’s eyes become heads with a single black eye on each one. The predominant impression I wanted to reach with this piece was glass; glassy frame, glassy background, and the shiny glassy image in the middle being showcased. As with many of my pieces, this one can easily give differing impressions. The one I intend is a girl with innocent eyes and locks of long blonde hair. So, I tried to focus on beauty and bring out the innocence, purity, and loveliness I saw in the face and clumpy locks of hair. A second common impression is two alien creatures or snakes that are facing each other and dancing. In this impression the girl’s eyes become heads with a single black eye on each one. If you look at my artwork you will notice the one consistency is the lack of consistency. I try to make each piece different from all the others. With each piece I try something new and try to learn something in the process making each piece a process of self discovery.
