When you cross the bridge from Manhattan you can exhale. Brooklyn has a beat, a rhythm, an energy and an attitude that is unprecedented. In 2007 Empire Roller Rink was closed, one of the last roller disco rinks, then in 2008 Astroland at Coney Island was closed. Countless “Mom & Pop” stores have closed to make way for national retailers. Change can be good, but not when it changes the rhythm of an already glorious beat.
What’s Good? attempts to preserve a long hot summer in New York’s largest borough , “the almighty BK.”
Materials: scratched film, video and stills.
