Google Street View I.E.D. (2009)

I created this piece a couple weeks after Google released the Street View feature for Google Maps in June of 2007. The impetus was to be the first politically-charged google bomb for the new mapping feature. This animation consists of 51 frames that feature the Street View of a car driving down Bush Street in San Francisco. While driving down the street the music playing is "Blowing Up the Spot" by the Fort Knox Five (used with permission) and is used a juxtaposition for the ultimate frames of the animation. Eventually the car stops and zooms in to look around and then all of a sudden..... While this animation was made for George W. Bush, the message still remains for President Barack Obama. This animation uses a background graphic from the Lost Series and features a random place somewhere in the United States of America.
