My Important Room is place where kitsch technology for making one feel at home competes with surveillance technology doing the opposite.

 Advances in technology seem to hinder our sense of privacy and simultaneously act as a mediation of our public self. Electronic means of communication allow us to portray ourselves in a different persona, hindering a true personal interaction, and even when we feel we are in the privacy of "home", our actions and guestures are shaped by the subconscious thought that somebody is always watching.
