Harper of the Day is a daily blog of satirical photo mashups about Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Political art is often less than explicit in its target or objective. However, this series of works is explicit, motivated by the fact that on December 4th, 2008, the Prime Minister used an obscure procedure called "prorogue" to suspend Parliament to prevent his government being toppled by a coalition of opposition parties.
The blog will run until January 26th, 2009 when Parliament will reconvene, when we will see whether democracy is still alive and well in Canada or has been conclusively hijacked by the imperious Mr. Harper.
