The sculptural work is designed with a microcontroller embedded in it that reads sensor data from push buttons mounted in the rocking form. These signals are transmitted to a small computer that renders the animation based on input. Although this work can be controlled with the up/down/left/right arrow keys on a computer keyboard, having a person twist and turn to control the animation is more interesting.
The drawings in this work are quite abstract and intuitively created in Photoshop. They are designed to reference the world of games, suggesting a board and unique moving pieces. I find it interesting to create works which can be both incorporated into a computer animation/game but also output as an aesthetic digital print.
