Inspired by the book “Shaping Things” (written by Bruce Sterling) I started working on a project which should extend the notion of sculpture. First of all I imagined an object which can be connected to the internet and which is assigned a unique internet address. Second and most important, I wanted to create a sculpture which offers an additional context than its mere physical representation: the book “Shaping Things” tells you that all objects in the future will store their own history and location (among other information), accessible to the owner of that object. And so I imagined to create a sculpture which follows exactly these principles. The resulting art work incorporates a computer and a screen. During one year I documented the creational process and stored all photo material on the sculpture itself.
