Having always been interested in language translation and the function of machines as prosthetic devices, extending the body’s capabilities in the world, her work focuses on technologically altered landscapes and bodies.
It seems that we are so comfortable with machines (even if what we are is comfortable being resigned to our frustrations with machines) that they can become invisible very quickly. As the standing reserve has infiltrated the landscape and become so vast that we no longer see the landscape for its contour, color, texture and vitality, without also seeing it as potential for development in the service of technology, machines have been imbedded in the landscape, functioning for our bodies in the process of ripening and bringing out the potential in this standing reserve. They are so mingled that they have hybridized. So perhaps the location for comment and meaning in my work is to polarize the two once ...

Having always been interested in language translation and the function of machines as prosthetic devices, extending the body’s capabilities in the world, her work focuses on technologically altered landscapes and bodies.
It seems that we are so comfortable with machines (even if what we are is comfortable being resigned to our frustrations with machines) that they can become invisible very quickly. As the standing reserve has infiltrated the landscape and become so vast that we no longer see the landscape for its contour, color, texture and vitality, without also seeing it as potential for development in the service of technology, machines have been imbedded in the landscape, functioning for our bodies in the process of ripening and bringing out the potential in this standing reserve. Distance the machine from bodies and landscapes but make the bindings that hold them together visible and more contingent.
