With my illustrations of heroic images, I would like to inspire strength and courage in the African-American community, as well as the larger population. I believe that children already have the desire to be larger than themselves (figuratively and literally), and that my work will inspire them to go beyond their limits and dream to be more. To excite!!!
Concept and Description: A camera will be capturing the Model's body in superhero dress. This image is then altered in Photoshop, and matched with a self portrait of myself or another. Then the images are merged to make a photorealistic image of comic-book superheroes. The visitor will gain information of each character based on their alter-egos profession and the hero’s role in society.
Goal: The visitor will be challenged to think of what kind of person it takes to be a hero, and that a real hero can come from ...
