Full Description

The project "borderlines: immigrants environment in a social and technological art context" is a collaborative art research using the digital technologies as a tool to produce social networks in an art production.

How does our new media environment help to develop the production of social art? And how is the connection between the artists as a mediator of these social relations?

The work was made with a group of four immigrants (Brazil, German, South Africa and Italy) to research the idea of environment, belonging, language and identity in an artistically representation about these different nationalities in the city of London.

The conceptual investigation produced in the collaboration between the curator and the artists was made using the artists' techniques, such as drawing, painting, and acting in a digital context.

Adriano Casanova (Brazil) (artist and curator): investigating language. Lana Lasagna (South Africa)(actriz): investigating identity. Francesco Beneamato (Italy)(painter): investigating environment. Aline Der Assem (artist)(German): investigating belonging.

In the process was created critical reviews and exhibitions to contextualize the works' concepts including different artists and authors' references. The idea is to suggest that the artwork produced is located in the collaboration relation and what we have as an art piece is actually the documentation about this process.
