i make pictures/ it was after memphis/ post-bluez/ the fuckin' west/ you had to be there/ to almost get it/ it was never west enough/ west/ west/ west/ west of winnemucca/ her thumb/ the dust/ the cottonwoods/ that bright lime green they flicker in the sun/ my bike/ the purr between the legs/ she hung on tight/ too tight/ the ride/ all the way to sparks/ on 80/ pass the airport motel 6/ turn right/ before the sparks amtrack/ onto 445/ go north/ oasis mobile estates/ she'd been working winnemucca titty bar/ but it's not good when you pour a pitcher of beer on some idiot's head/ over some offense done to her/ you get fired/ so it was back to oasis estates/ k-mart shoppers it ain't even reno/ and waits on tables at denny's at least the tips are decent enough/ but they will grab your ass at denny's ...

i make pictures/ it was after memphis/ post-bluez/ the fuckin' west/ you had to be there/ to almost get it/ it was never west enough/ west/ west/ west/ west of winnemucca/ her thumb/ the dust/ the cottonwoods/ that bright lime green they flicker in the sun/ my bike/ the purr between the legs/ she hung on tight/ too tight/ the ride/ all the way to sparks/ on 80/ pass the airport motel 6/ turn right/ before the sparks amtrack/ onto 445/ go north/ oasis mobile estates/ she'd been working winnemucca titty bar/ but it's not good when you pour a pitcher of beer on some idiot's head/ over some offense done to her/ you get fired/ so it was back to oasis estates/ k-mart shoppers it ain't even reno/ and waits on tables at denny's at least the tips are decent enough/ but they will grab your ass at denny's don't think they won't/ i think now in hindsight she was made from glass and kept breaking and breaking and breaking and one day she would be sand/ i'd put her on the bike and we'd run up to tahoe and sit in the pines/ listen to the wind whispering/ she liked bourbon/ so did i/ it wasn't that hard to change all of this/ you buy her a five subject 160 sheet loose leaf notebook/ and a pen/ you take her hand/ you make that hand write poetry/ eventually the hand will find its own/

the poet laureate/

of oasis mobile estates/

they were the saddest trailers/

ever/

but she became/

quite deep/
