iMac G3 #M5521 (2007)

The iMac computer was once considered the 'Gold Standard of desktop computing,' and through their candy colored design an 'industry-altering success.' It is through its design and aesthetic appeal that it appeals to the user and it's friendly color schemes entice us to view it as not just a machine but something more.

Is this object of technology life? In thousands of years when these electronic components are buried beneath the ground collecting age will they be considered an early lifeform to what has become of them? Or even, if a extra terrestrial were to discover these after our existence, would it be immediately known that these objects were tools for our use or an evolving lifeform in themselves?

This work uses all of the functional components of a iMac in its earliest generation excluding its aesthetic casing and flatscreen monitor.
