IDOLatries is an Interactive New Media Installation that explores the representation of feminine images used on the labels and/or logos of many canned and packaged Hispanic food products.
The illustrations or representations of the female archetypes: "mother," "vamp," "saint," or "virgin" on every bottle, canned or package have been paired with a products' corresponding commercial barcode label and a visual cinematic narrative which is decoded by the viewer's direct interaction as she/he scans the product with a commercial barcode scanner.
