Patternwoman-Round Version, 2004, video by Daria Dorosh, with sound by Ian Epps, and voice of Galen Brandt, 2 '21 minutes. This is the third in a series of four videos that explores the effect of coding and mapping the same set of information onto different image structures. I am interested in pattern as a digital artifact and as a cultural language expressed in the clothing of women. The sound by Ian was based on my cell phone ring tone composition, and the image is based on photos of Galen in her unique way of layering patterns from 'the thrift shops of history'. Other versions of Patternwoman can be seen on my website.
