The Drollic Video Dreamer is an online software application which will turn any textual phrase into an absolutely unique abstract video. Using online image search engines, it maps the user-provided phrase to a unique set of imagery. From there, it will analyze and blend the images together in a painterly style which lends to the abstraction. In addition to the visuals, a unique soundtrack is also generated with each video. The user even has the ability to choose the specific instruments used.
The final videos are automatically posted to YouTube and the Drollic Blog, which can be seen at http://www.drollic.com.
My intention in creating this application was to explore computer generated art, and specifically how a user-provided stimulus and online search systems could be combined to this end.
