Dance Dance Revolutionary! (2006)

Dance Dance Revolutionary! is an on-going arts initiative that aims to share information about radical activism through fun, participatory activities. The project was launched in June 2006 with four platforms inspired by the lives of Angela Davis and Emma Goldman, two important figures in U.S. history. In addition to hosting free stop-motion animation workshops for teen girls, the project featured a customized dance rhythm game (much like the popular commercial game Dance Dance Revolution) set to an anti-communist funk song from the 1970s. This year's platforms concluded with a contest soliciting remixes of songs about Angela Davis by John Lennon/Yoko Ono and the Rolling Stones.
