ANSICHTSKARTE / PSEUDO-PERSPECTIVE STUDY

ANSICHTSKARTE / PSEUDO-PERSPECTIVE STUDY

Three persons sit around the table and discuss. This activity can be called as traditional, local communication. When this situation appears on the internet, we can speak about global communication. Sitting at one point of the world someone can watch three persons sitting and conversing at an other location. To change the local communication into global one it would be enough to install a webcam next to the three persons and connect it to the internet. The real-time life, imagined by the global voyeur.

But in "Ansichtskarte" the everyday situation has been formed to something different. It reduces the uncountable elements of reality into the composition of some important objects, and with this reduction the empty space which surrounds the objects gets importance, too. Instead of projecting simply movements the work uses metamorphoses between snapshots, and from the metamorposes time after time appears the demonic. And finally, instead of visualising the situation with the usual central perspective system, "Ansichtskarte" builds up only the illusion of the 3D space (using the movement and the changing order of simple 2D layers), but this illusion again and again contradicts with our everyday observations.
