CIRCUMVENT is the second part of a larger project entitled "Die Raubkunst Projekte" (the pirated art project). In "Die Raubkunst Projekte," honeylab bought the internet domain names of 12 well-known international artists and used them as a pool of terms.
Thus honeylab alone became entitled to give meaning to these internet domain names by defining their content. This occurred in two phases: phase 1 from December 21-27, 2001 and phase 2 from December 28, 2001 to January 7, 2002.
CIRCUMVENT on the other hand, took place in the "real world," i.e.: at auto - radetzkystr. 5 - 1030 vienna and generali-vitrine - karlsplatz - 1040 vienna, as well as in 'virtual space - the www' - at the following internet adresses, exhibited here on www.honeylab.org as a means of documentation:
