I began this project by juxtaposing images and words in series interactive vignettes. Initially, the narrative structure was very loose if there at all. I cycled through a number of iterations, combining the vignettes this way and that until I realized that I was essentially making a narrative. At this point I was forced to reassess what I was doing in terms of narrative structure. This is when the character of "I" or "David Crawford" entered the work in the form of monologues which scroll across the bottom of the screen. The project began to take on a new narrative life after the inclusion of this character, leading me to further question the character's identity and prompting research into other "David Crawfords" online.
