Combining the telephone interface with TV images Tele-phony takes one on a visual and aural journey using fragments culled from American and Japenese television commenting on different aspects of popular culture.
Full Description
Tele-phony was made under the assumption that the web simultaneously functions like two popular household appliances - the television and the telephone. Like the TV, at times the browser becomes a console for passive viewer experience. And like the telephone, it's a communication device to connect people separated by great distances. Tele-phony attempts to hybrid the two media experiences. Twelve variations on the "tele-experience" are accessible through a phone interface which tauntingly avoids your selections. The artist has also chosen to mix elements from Japanese and American TV to explore distinctions in pop culture.
