'firstTHURSDAYS' is a series of hour-long sessions simulatenously netcast and projected in exhibition and performance spaces in multiple cities by concreteSTREAM, a group project within the Visual Arts Department of the University of Maryland. November's firstTHURSDAY was curated by performance artist Tadej Pogacar, and featured eight artists whose work explores sex and sex work as auto-eroticism, economics, and activism. Watching online, I wanted more context than the sole video stream on a black web page, but often the content was compelling enough. concreteSTREAM is seeking guest curators for one hour programmes around themes such as pornography, data wars, culture jamming, performance.com, tele-theater and virtual commodities. -Helen Varley Jamieson
