webby awards?

All,

Although I'm not sure of the validity of the Webby Awards. Someone was nice
enough to enter (pay) me…and now I've been nominated for the "weird" category.

What are people's opinions of these awards? Are they a real honour or is this
a cash cow for some corporate wanks? Or is it both?
