it's odd. we worry and discuss the impermanence of digital media, yet here is a work made of iron, embedded in concrete, literally the stuff of permanence, that is no longer with us.
it's not as if a nazi theft or a mongrel horde destroyed the work.
it was done by a democratically elected officials without discussion with the constituents or knowledge of art. "
The di Suvero works that are no longer extant dated from his most creatively documented period (1967).
If you google earth the piece you may get a historic record of the installation.
