Hello,

A note about staff transition: Patrick May, Rhizome's current Director of Technology, will step down July 1. We wanted to make a brief announcement on this list as May has established relationships with artists, members and all those involved with Rhizome through his work here over the past 2.5 years. Patrick has made an outstanding contribution to our organization. He successfully re-built the Rhizome website, turning it into a strong, sustainable platform for future development. He oversaw the development of many new features and policies and, in general, crafted a tech policy that kept ideas of participation, community and sustainability at the forefront. We wish him the best as he pursues his artistic career and work in the commercial side of web publishing. You can email him off-list for his non-Rhizome contacts: patrick@rhizome.org

I'd just like to say another public word of thanks to Patrick. I have vivid memories of our first conversation, when he was applying for the job. He'd done extensive research on the organization, asked some good, tough questions, and had boundless energy and enthusiasm for working with us to take the organization to a new level. I think he's more than succeeded at this. As a long-time participant in the Rhizome community, I've admired the community-driven ideas, tools, and upgrades Patrick's brought to us. It takes a LOT to keep Rhizome running, but it takes true vision and selfless commitment to move things forward in the way that he has.

You've been an awesome colleague, Patrick! Thanks for everything!

Patrick,

I appreciate your overhauls of the site, especially the discussion forum. Years ago I'd get lost in a mass of RAW mails and avoid speaking up since I couldn't keep track of who was talking to whom! You've made it easier for a lot more of us to participate.
