Hey T:
Maybe you can get on the Rhizome guest list. November 30th is the party to
be at.
Wouldn=B9t it be great if all Rhizome members could be put on that list. Tota=
l
infiltration for the long range good of contemporary new media art. Imagine
all of the important people who will be there for Rhizomers to network with=
.
That one special event. The Newest Coolest New Museum in Town packed to the
gills with the most important artworldians history has ever summoned (well
at least all of the New York art world in addition to some international
riftraf)=20
The original Rhizome mission would approve of it for sure. I wonder how man=
y
Rhizome members actually live in the New York City area, less than 50 that
might consider showing up? But.....Rhizome is now reborn again, a hybrid
cyborg-child of a 21st century institution......so...... I don=B9t think it
will be possible......the museum would never allow it. They would say =B3What
if everyone came to the party? I thought all the members just existed in a
data format. Cyberspace is a great place for them, not to mention the
thousands of from around the world descending upon us only to drink all the
booze, eat all the krumpettes. Promoting themselves, their collectives and
affiliations honestly and shamelessly to whoever might care to listen is no=
t
what we do here, nor allow.=B2
This private club of sorts has does have many back doors.
I bet $1000 ($900 of which is tax deductible) would get you a ticket or it
may not be too late to get on the press list are just a few examples of the
possibilites.
Infiltrate and take over for fun and freedom for all.
Cheers,
Lee

Hi Lee,
It's really not all that bad :) The openings are primarily for New Museum supporters--the people who made the new building possible--and exhibiting artists. Rhizome has a member event in January--members will receive an email invitation soon. Also, even back in the 'good old days', Rhizome held events at art organizations in New York, so collaboration like this has always been part of the organization's history.
Tim, I'll check to see if any tickets will be available day of.
