googled him, too. what i found was an interview with him where he says:

[…] People used to say to me, "Oh, that just looks like TV." I used to say
to them, "Well, that's just great. Because people understand TV." […]

could it be possible we're thinking of tv, too, when it comes to web based
works?

yeah right after 911 i did this work in reaction to
television footage (and using television footage)
where the vid takes up the full screen of the browser
window as a television does…

And more importantly ( at least from this chair in the known world) we should remember that carefully crafted agitation can lead to new insights and expression. Lies deciept all forms of agitation can build new media empires ;-)
Agitation acts as a catalyst, building conviction and drive in the contrary.
As a complete aside it's again great to see so many new works in the artbase . I'm sure Les Levine would be happy.

well, it doesn't relate at all.
But the slow-motion effect, is it trying to decontextualize the reality of the event.
This does relate back to Joys painting?
The photo Joy based her work on is disconnected but raw.
I'm not sure if the author of the photo is for or against the revolution.
In Joys work, the context and attitude/intent is very pronounced. It has direction.
The exhibit and name of the body are very important.
What is the social context of you're work? Is it just visceral? Or does it make a comment. And don't tell me me it's up to the observer.
