ArtBase Experiment

Dear Raw Readers,

Some time ago we talked, among others, about how to make more and
better use of the artbase.
Rhizome will make it possible to announce every first Monday of the
month another artbase work on the frontpage of the site and in the
digest version of the mailinglist.
I volunteered to organise the selection of this weekly feature.
The first feature will be on Monday 01 01 2007

All the works in the artbase http://rhizome.org/art/ are eligible.
Please choose one and send me (artbase-at-bram.org)
1) it's name
2) it's artbase url
3) if you want you can also send a small text that explains why you
propose this work for featuring on the front page. The text or parts
of it will be used on http://www.bram.org/artbase to stimulate others
to vote for the same work too. After each weekly update of
http://www.bram.org/artbase I will send a mail to Raw.

The 29th of each month I will simply count "votes" for art pieces and
select the one with the most votes. Of course if votes are equal I
will put in my own vote to come to a decision.

PS I know this all could be done with an automatized php script and a
data base. But I prefer to do it by hand, so I will have a "tactile"
contact with the data concerned and will be more involved.
