This Sunday, at Heureka Science Centre, Vantaa, Finland, Nina Czegledy and team present Aurora Feast, an event in three parts.

The Project aims to celebrate the mysterious, dynamic and whimsical Northern Lights. In a recapturing of the mood of traditional feasts; The Aurora Feast is an intertwining of a spectacle of sights and sounds with talk and food.

You are welcome to participate - on location and online!

Aurora Wunderkammer - panel (Heureka 12.00-14.30)

The Wunderkammer, as a fusion of the two cultures of art and science is used to approach the Aurora phenomenon of Aurora. Artists and scientists discuss instruments and interpretations of the medium of light.

Michael Punt and Martha Blassnigg from University of Plymouth (UK), Kirsti Kauristie, Olaf Amm and Johan Silen, Finnish Meteorogical Institute, Esa Turunen, Sodankyla Geophysical Observatory (FI); and artists Jean PIerre Aube and Nina Czegledy (CA).

Aurora Public Art Event (Heureka 15.00-17.30)

Audiovisual event with Aurora imagery, VLF recordings, magnetograms and all-sky camera imaging by Jean-Piere Aube, Anne-Sarah Lemur, Finnish meteorological institute and University of Calgary. Complemented by a serving of Northern Lights Tapas.

Aurora Live is an interactive, real-time and web-based visualization of personal and cross-cultural interpretations of the Northern Lights phenomenon. The participatory interpretation of imaginary or actual aurora narratives contributes to the transfiguration of the AuroraLive site.

On February 5, 2005, your one-word descriptions of the northern lights can
be submitted globally, on location, and in various languages. Send us your
Aurora word via SMS or web-form on the Aurora Feast website. Your
interpretive words are passed through our database, onto a web-accessible
site. Our interactive program will integrate your singular word contribution
and enlighten it within the transformative display of the Aurora Live site.
