Context:
Media arts have been undergoing a paradigm shift towards an integrative art form that incorporates diverse disciplines, approaches and methodologies. Well-established boundaries between artistic and commercial orientation of media works are increasingly questioned by a new generation of artists, designers and media practitioners.
The Coventry University/BBC presentations will explore these changes with an interdisciplinary programme of speakers that will explore contemporary relationships between creativity, practice and technology.

History:
Coventry School Of Art & Design has a long heritage of Art and new technology. 1986 saw the launch of the first Electronic Arts / Electronic Graphics Post Graduate courses in Europe. 2006 will see its 20 year anniversary celebrations. Today a thriving PhD and ‘applied research’ culture exists, through creative partnerships with external arts organisations, funders and industrial links. The MA Media Arts and MA Design and Digital Media courses are internationally recognized and continue the long tradition of innovation and creativity at Coventry University.
