Ms. Rubin is coming to Prague in connection with the presentation of the project Layered Histories: The Wandering ‘Bible of Marseilles’, which will be on view at the Jewish Museum in Prague - Robert Guttmann Gallery (U Stare ?koly 3, 110 00 Prague 1) from February 24 till March 27, 2005.

Layered Histories: The Wandering ‘Bible of Marseilles’, is an immersive digital environment combining image and sound. Resulting from Rubin’s recent collaboration with the American composer Robert J. Gluck, the project features a story of a 13th century Hebrew manuscript and its mostly imaginary wanderings throughout the old continent. The fluid video presents the manuscript as a beautiful work of art reflecting the convergence of cultures in medieval Spain, and as a narrative text of layered meanings.
