video projector on steam/vapor??

Hi all,
Awhile back someone on one of these email lists sent out a message about a project that uses a thin sheet of steam/vapor or something rather invisible that was then used for projection. The unit - there was a website - looked like a bigger projector. A thin slit on the unit created an effect on the air above it. A projection was then cast onto it. Vague memory, sorry.

Any help would be much appreciated.

don't think it was this but blast theory used water vapour for the
projections in desert rain
