Agence TOPO's art CD-ROM and DVD-ROM showcase
New titles

Agence TOPO is pleased to present its renewed catalogue of digital
works on CD-Rom and DVD-Rom.

For each title, you will find on the web site a short description as
well as the pricing policy for individuals and institutions, as
established by their creator/producer, which includes the license
fees for public viewing and distribution. The showcase presents over
forty titles within the following categories: fiction, poetic
fiction, interactive poetry, interactive art and reference.

We also invite you to read the presentation text by Montreal artist
and curator, Elene Tremblay.

Some of the new acquisitions

- Bleeding Through : Layers of Los Angeles, 1920-1986
- Tracing the Decay of Fiction (USA, 2003 and 2002)
Two interactive fictions on DVD from The Labyrinth Project, research
center on interactive narrative affiliated to the University of
Southern California. The first title combines a database detective
story with a digital city symphony. The DVD comes with a book which
contains a novella by cultural historian Norman Klein and essays on
the production. The second title, based on Pat O'Neill's film The
Decay of Fiction, is an archeological exploration of the mythical
Hotel Ambassador in Los Angeles, a vintage building now in ruins.

Phony explores the history and culture of the telephone in order to
reflect on contemporary communications technologies. Based on a
multisite public art exhibition by the author, the title looks at an
ensemble of typical telephone situations on a dramatic mode.

From the prolific artist Tom Drahos, who has published six other
cd-roms based on 19th-century European literary masterworks.

- Phares Gamma, Jacques Dongy (France, 2002)
Liquid medias. The computer uses generative processes, based on
random, which recalls Mallarme's Coup de des, to the quantas' theory
and "chance operations" of Cage.
