Iraq is Set to Welcome Volunteers and "Human Shields"

The official daily Al-Thawra reported that "The Jordanian National Mobiliza=
tion Committee," which was established in 1996 by Jordanian opposition and =
independent personalities, announced the beginning of a voluntarism [campai=
gn] with the goal of recruiting 100,000 Jordanians to be sent to Iraq to de=
fend its installations in case of an American-British attack."(49) A few d=
ays later, Babil daily said that Iraq is getting ready to welcome Arab and =
foreign volunteers "who stated their willingness to become 'human shields' =
at installations and locations that may be targeted by the U.S. in the upco=
ming possible war..."(50) A few days later Al-Thawra reported again that Ir=
aq is expecting 10,000 volunteers from Eritrea.(51)

    That looks like an idea...

100.000 anti-war activists from europe send to Iraq on Saddam's cost and pl=
aced around in different civilian objects in the country. And a website wit=
h exact location of every person - just in case Us Army wants to know who w=
    ill they kill...
An ultimate 'mad scientist - style' net art project :)

After all there were several 100,000 civilians in Times Square on New Years=
and we could see how that ;ive broadcast prevented terrorists from attacki=
    ng the Zionist/Capitalist skyscrapers.

But then again, the Bush administration would see that as a great cost cutt=
    ing measure to arts/cultural welfare/grants.

And of course Saddam would also line up the activists around the "orphanage=
s" and "hospitals" that might have bio-weapons research labs in the baseme=
nts. After all, how would the activists know? And what irony to have all th=
    ose anti-war activists defending a dictator's bio-warfare sites with their =
lives. The Age of Irony lives!
