Recession Art’s Emerging Filmmaker Series
April 30 – May 8, 2011 at The Invisible Dog in Cobble Hill
Now in its third installment, Recession Art’s Emerging Filmmaker
Series provides a place for films that need more space to exist than the frame of your laptop. We are looking for living, breathing,
vulnerable, artistic, and engaged films, for films that have a pulse,
films that want to be seen by an audience, films that do not bore,
films you can’t see on TV. We accept work in all genres: narrative,
documentary, experimental, musical, dance-ical, and comical.
This film series was created by filmmakers out of the desire to bring
artists together, to excite, incite, and inspire. We are looking for
filmmakers who want to be part of an artistic exchange whose ultimate goal is to continue to produce important, thoughtful cinema, of all shapes and sizes. We are looking for filmmakers who want to be part of our community of artists.
Accepted filmmakers will receive one or more screenings during
Recession Art’s upcoming show, Irrational Exuberance. Once a filmmaker participates in the Emerging Filmmaker Series, they are eligible for all future Recession Art screenings and special events.
Selections will be conducted by Film Curator Jesse Wakeman and Art
Director Ani Katz. The submission fee is $20. Deadline for submissions
is February 7.
