Please join iDMAa (International Digital and Media Arts Association) and La Salle University for an International Conference on Digital Media in Philadelphia November 8 - 10

The purpose of the conference is to help bring the different educators together to begin to discuss how to make digital communications/media into a discipline. To that end, iDMAa is trying to contact individuals in the mid-Atlantic area who teach digital media, digital design, digital communications, or one of the other new media programs in existence.

-The Conference speakers include: Lars Qvortrup on Hypercomplexity, K. Hariharan on Evolving Nature of Digital Film/Video, Allan Jacob from Autodesk (the makers of Maya) Contemporary Issues of 3-d Animation, Peter Rivera from AOL, Curt Kratchman from Schematic Corporation and others.

-A sample of the sessions include, Mobile Media, Second Life, Collaboration Journalism, Design Activism, Pedagogy, Promotion and Tenure in the Academe, Multi Media Programming, Digital Music Composition and more.

-Two Digital art exhibitions, iDEAs is a juried digital art exhibition at F.U.E.L. one of the amazing galleries in Old City…. shape: space: object presented at the Painted Bride Art Center. and this year schools may sponsor a student exhibition to provide their top students with exposure to the iDMAa attendees and the City of Philadelphia.

The Conference site and hotel is the Holiday Inn in Old City- in the center of the Historic District. Every conference attendee will have included in his or her registration a Saturday morning visit to the incredible Constitution Center, which houses over 100 digital media application examples.

As a bonus, the 9:00 am - 5:00 pm pre-conference program Making Money with Content,
a co-sponsored program between iDMAa and Lightbulb Communications will be set at the
Constitution Center and includes lunch and breaks for just $99.
