Arteles Center is located in Hämeenkyrö, in the heart of the most beautiful national landscape area of south-westerly Finland (European Council landscape award 2009), within 20 minutes one reaches Tampere airport and within one hour and a half the Helsinki airport.

The Center itself is a hundred years old school transformed in to a dynamic working and conference center for the professionals in the field of art and culture. The center creates a platform for interconnected art and science productions, organizes contemporary art exhibitions, other cultural happenings and offers working and living space for short and long term working. The ´artist in residence` program brings together curators, artists and producers in emerging and advanced career stages from all countries and disciplines (fine arts, multimedia and video art, new technologies, literature, theatre, dance, music, etc.)

The residency program aims to create a portal for dialogue between the actors in the cultural field, strengthen the connection between the Finnish contemporary art scene and international collaborators, offer high quality culture experiences for audience both in the urban area as in the provinces and bring closer the cultural exchange between countries. Particularly the program supports residents in their personal research, creative explorations and professional growth.

The selection of artists is done by the Arteles administration. The selection criteria are defined by the quality of the project, its adequacy to Arteles philosophy and the applicant?s curriculum.

3. Introduction to your recent art practice with description of a project proposal (max 2 page of text and 3-5 images)
