Overview:

The purpose of the Perry and Marty Granoff Center for the Creative Arts (at Brown University) is to advance innovative directions for research, teaching, and production across the boundaries of individual arts disciplines. This new facility will feature a recital hall, recording studio, multi-media lab and studios. All space within the building will be assigned for multi-disciplinary work. Programs and courses will be developed where collaboration among artists, scientists, and humanists will seek to create new art forms, new approaches to collaborative work, and will explore, examine, and extend our understanding of the creative process.

Qualifications:

Experience using and maintaining software for audio production, video editing, and multimedia authoring.

Expert knowledge of the Macintosh platform and advanced multimedia hardware.

Experience and proficiency with scripting and programming for web and new media (e.g., Javascript, Java) desired.

Ability to understand and present complex technical issues. Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide technical assistance and solve computing problems.

Demonstrated classroom and/or one-on-one teaching skills preferred.

Excellent management, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Ability to take initiative and work autonomously. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Excellent writing, editing and public-speaking skills. Excellent customer service skills.

Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree preferred.

Knowledge of the use of digital media across disciplines (Arts, Humanities, Sciences) desired.

1 -2 years experience in academic computing support preferably in support of faculty.
