Assistant Professor - Painting and Drawing

The Department of Art at The Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in painting and drawing. Appointment begins Autumn 2010.

Qualifications: M.F.A. degree, preferably two or more years university-level teaching experience beyond the terminal degree or equivalent; an active professional creative practice with evidence of building an exhibition record of substance. We are looking for a candidate with expertise in painting and drawing and fluency in conceptual and historical frameworks including but not limited to narrative, video, technology, and installation. Preference will be given to applicants with interdisciplinary perspectives. This position will require a commitment to teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses and creating a critical and experimental learning environment within a public research university. Previous experience in curricular development, mentoring students, and service on graduate committees is advantageous.
