Media Arts and Culture MFA at Purchase College | Accepting Applications for Fall 2019

The new MFA program in Media Arts and Culture at Purchase College provides the intellectual, aesthetic, and technical tools to make art that matters.

Students develop their art practice within a comprehensive curriculum that includes one-on-one mentoring, collaborative work, social engagement, theoretical inquiry, and the flexibility to explore their interests within Purchase College’s varied course offerings.

They work with a department of creative and diverse faculty who are prominent in the worlds of media art and technology. Faculty specialties include video art, socially engaged art, digital printmaking, creative coding, AR / VR, internet art, installation art, physical computing, sound art, tactical media, distributed media and more.

The program is ideal for graduates of media art, new media, digital arts, or related arts programs who want to further develop their practice, critically reflect on cultural and global events, and articulate their ideas in a supportive artistic and academic environment.
