LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER - CREATIVE ARTS

The School of Creative Arts at James Cook University (JCU) wishes to make an appointment across the areas of graphic design, multimedia and digital video. The position is to commence at the beginning of the 2008 year and will be based on the Townsville (Douglas) campus. The School has recently completed a very successful transition period that has seen the introduction of a New Media Arts degree in 2007 and construction of a purpose built facility, due for completion in early 2008. Undergraduate offerings also include a Diploma of Creative Arts and Bachelor of Creative Industries on both the Townsville and Cairns campuses.

In addition to degree and diploma courses, a range of elective subjects are offered at both the Cairns and Townsville campuses. The appointee may be required to teach intensive courses on the Cairns campus. Postgraduate, Masters and PhD research programs can be accessed at either campus within the context of People, Identity and Place, one of JCU’s areas of research strength. Capacity to provide supervision at Honours, Masters and PhD levels will be highly desirable.

Employment Type: Appointment will be full-time on a continuing basis subject to a probationary period.

Salary: Lecturer - Academic Level B - $64,407 - $76,210 per annum or Senior Lecturer - Academic Level C - $78,569 - $90,372 per annum. Level of appointment and commencing salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience.
