CURRENT SCREENSAVER: Jana Bernartova /~ 430–500 nm, ~ 700–600 THz/

Right now, ScreenSaverGallery is surveilling a fragment of Jana Bernartova’s IRL exhibition ~ 430–500 nm, ~ 700–600 THz in the Gallery of the City of Blansko, Czech Republic.

Bernartova casts SSG into the role of ultramarine pigment interpreter, digitally recorded. Or as we may say, she directly casts also your own computer screen into that role, as well as did it with the digital projector, mobile phone or printed media for the IRL exhibition. The impossibility of proper interpretation of that particular colour by different media creates a main hypothesis for ~ 430–500 nm, ~ 700–600 THz exhibition.

This keeping in mind, we felt rather uncapable of summing up the many historical, sociological or religious meanings taken by the ultramarine colour so far; because at this point in time, no one can see the same colour, and no one can perceive the actual original tone any more.
