Parsons Design & Technology Students Redefine Digital Design with Exhibition

Parsons School of Design proudly presents an exhibition of thesis work from graduates of the MFA programs in Design & Technology. The exhibition, which takes place at the School's two Greenwich Village galleries on 66 Fifth Avenue and 2 West 13th Street, runs from June 2nd through June 11th and features projects in multimedia, experimental game design, animation, digital video, computational art, interactive installations, educational media, sound design, social software, wearable technology, and others.

"More than just an expanded technology skill-set, MFA Design and Technology students re-imagine human experience," says Digital Design Chair Colleen Macklin. "This year's graduates have challenged themselves to create truly innovative projects that provoke, challenge, and reveal the future. These graduates are going to have a major impact in design, communication and entertainment in the coming years - this show is a sneak preview of the things we’ll be watching, playing and interacting with."

The Parsons 2004 MFA Design and Technology Thesis Exhibition showcases the work of graduates exploring the design and art implications of emerging technologies, as well as the evolving connections between technology, design, and the human experience.

"These DT students are a rare group–they design things that matter, things that move and shake and sometimes explode in the beauty and meaning of their telling," says Digital Design Instructor Katie Salen. Talented, yes. Conventional, no."
