Position Title: Assistant Professor in Studio Art: Photography

The Department of Art and Art History in the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a tenure track Assistant Professor in Studio Art, with a start date of August 15, 2007, to teach beginning to advanced fine art photography, foundations of media art, digital imaging, and interdisciplinary senior thesis in studio art. Candidate must hold an MFA in photography, have teaching experience at the undergraduate level, and have a significant exhibition record. They should have expertise in traditional darkroom processes, digital imaging, and non-linear media editing on the Mac platform, as well as a strong background in contemporary art and visual culture.

Applicants should include a cover letter highlighting creative activity and teaching strengths relevant to the position; CV; statement of teaching philosophy; 20 images of applicant’s current artwork on a CD, with accompanying artist’s statement; 20 images of student work on a CD; and three letters of recommendation.
