Apply for a chance to present your work at the launch of The Arts and Genomics Centre

The Arts and Genomics Centre is a research centre formed to support the NWO-funded New Representational Spaces research programme, run jointly between the Universities of Amsterdam, Leiden and Maastricht in The Netherlands. The Centre brings together artists, genomics researchers and theoreticians to investigate and stimulate the interactions and intersections of art and genomics.

The Centre is now actively searching for artists who work or plan to work in the field of biogenetic art. In particular, the centre is offering the opportunity for artists to present their work and make an appeal for a collaboration with scientists at the centre’s official launch on Saturday 25th June at the Trippenhuis of the KNAW in Amsterdam.

For more information and to apply for the opportunity to present your work at the public launch of The Arts and Genomics Centre, please send or email a CV, example of work and a short statement explaining your interest in biogenetic art (in Dutch or English) to the address below. If selected you will be asked to prepare a 5-minute presentation of your current work and given the opportunity to explain your proposal and ask for collaborative assistance from scientists in the audience.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday May 25th, 2005. Applications received after this deadline cannot be considered for presentation at the launch, but your contact details will be kept on file for consideration for future centre projects. Please note on your application if you do not want your details kept on file.
