Description:

With the growing popularity of the “Fashion Tech” market, consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of garment and material technologies that offer protective and adaptive solutions. Keeping in mind our current social and environmental conditions such as the rise of increasingly unstable weather patterns, increased surveillance as well as the rapidly growing commercial space industry, technical materials such as abrasion and flame resistant aramids, impact resistant polymers, or radiation protective metalized fibers will begin to move out of their predominant industrial market and make their way into the consumer apparel market. I will highlight examples of current and future advanced materials, their properties, and how they will relate to our future consumer.
