With the instructors, this class will be a chance for students to exchange anecdotes and hypotheticals and answer questions about open calls, representation by galleries, fairs, grad school, curators, artist statements. Come with your questions. Figure out the what, why and for whom of things together.

Jackie Im and Aaron Harbour are independent curators based in Oakland, CA. They have collaboratively curated exhibitions at MacArthur B Arthur, Liminal Space, Little Paper Planes, and S.H.E.D. Projects. Independently Im has curated or assisted on exhibitions at the Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, Queens Nails Projects, Intersection for the Arts, Pro Arts, the Walter and McBean Galleries (SFAI), and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Im has received her BA in Art History from Mills College and her MA in Curatorial Practice from California College of the Arts. Harbour has received some modicum of education from San Francisco Art Institute, DJs regularly, and contributes writing to Art Cards, Art Practical, and Curiously Direct.
