Learn the art of wood engraving, an extremely accessible process that you can complete at your home studio. A refined form of block printing, wood engraving offers a full range of tonality and exquisite control over mark-making. During this two-day workshop you learn about materials and techniques, and explore your own creative response by producing a limited edition of prints.

Richard Wagener received his MFA in painting from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. His book, Zebra Noise with a Flatted Seventh, was published in 1998 by printer Peter Koch, and a suite of ten engravings was created to accompany The Fragments of Parmenides, published by Editions KOCH in 2004. Richard's work is in the collections of the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, The Fine Arts Museums, San Francisco, and the Library of Congress, among others.
