WordPress (WordPress.org) is as a powerful Content Management System that can be used to build a portfolio website. This workshop will introduce students to the steps and tools involved with installing, building, and managing a WordPress portfolio. All students will begin with the same simplified design (theme) as we cover basic web languages including HTML and CSS. We will discuss how to effectively present and organize artwork on a website, how to prepare images, how to install and use WordPress plugins, and more. With the skills from this course, students should be able to go on to customize and fine tune their website design.

The class with require that you come with a domain name and hosting service. (Detailed instructions will be provided.)

Note: All levels welcome. However, WordPress is not necessarily "plug-and-play" or "drag-and-drop" option for portfolios. Have a look at http://wordpress.org to see if WordPress is right for your needs.
